SD384SPIEVK - Evaluation Board for LMH0384 Cable Equalizer with SPI Interactive GUI
LMH0384 Product Folder Description:
The SD384SPIEVK is an evaluation kit designed to demonstrate the performance and capabilities of the LMH0384 3 Gbps HD/SD SDI Extended Reach and Configurable Adaptive Cable Equalizer.
The board accepts 75Ω input signals conforming to the SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, or SMPTE 259M standards. The LMH0384 will restore the input signal after it has been attenuated by coaxial cable. The LMH0384 differential output is provided via two 50Ω SMA connectors. Jumpers on the board can be configured for evaluation of LMH0384 features such as auto sleep, carrier detect, mute, bypass, and SPI mode / pin mode select.
The SD384SPIEVK includes a USB interface to connect to a host PC. The Analog LaunchPAD (ALP) software application allows managing the SPI registers of the LMH0384. It provides easy control and monitoring of device features such as: output swing and offset adjustment, input launch level optimization, sleep mode, mute, bypass, extended 3G reach mode, and cable length indicator. What the user needs to provide:
- A host PC for the interactive GUI
- An SDI video source (i.e. a video test generator)

- Coaxial cable to attenuate the signal prior to the equalizer (optional)
