| RD-147: ADC14V155/LMH6552/LMK02000 Low IF Receiver Reference Design Files & Documentation
Description:
This Reference Design Kit is designed to demonstrate a low IF receiver subysystem, commonly used in WiMAX and WCDMA receivers.
The reference design uses the following products from National Semiconductor's PowerWise® family of products:
- Two LMH6552 1.5 GHz bandwidth differential current feedback amplifiers;
- ADC14DS105 14-bit, 1 GHz, Dual 105 MSPS (Megasample per Second) ADC with serial LVDS outputs;
- LMK02000 low-jitter precision clock conditioner with an integrated phase-locked loop (PLL) that provides 128 femtosecond (fs) jitter over an integration bandwidth of 100 Hz to 20 MHz;
- Several energy-efficient power management ICs.
The reference board is designed for evaluation at input frequencies up to 35 MHz with a sampling frequency of 100 MSPS. The sampling frequency is generated on the board by a 100 MHz VCXO which is locked to a reference oscillator by the LMK02000.
The evaluation board can be used in either of two modes. In the Manual mode, suitable test equipment can be used with the board to evaluate the reference design performance. In the Computer mode, evaluation is simplified by connecting the board to the WaveVision 5.1 Data Capture Board (order number WAVEVSN BRD 5.1), which is connected to a personal computer through a USB port and running WaveVision software, operating under Microsoft Windows. The software can perform an FFT on the captured data upon command and, in addition to a frequency domain plot, shows dynamic performance in the form of SNR, SINAD, THD, SFDR and ENOB.
