The ADC101S101 is a low-power, single channel, CMOS 10-bit analog-to-digital converter with a high-speed serial interface.
Unlike the conventional practice of specifying performance at a single sample rate only, the ADC101S101 is fully specified
over a sample rate range of 500 ksps to 1 Msps. The converter is based upon a successive-approximation register architecture
with an internal track-and-hold circuit.
The output serial data is straight binary, and is compatible with several standards, such as SPI™, QSPI™,
MICROWIRE, and many common DSP serial interfaces.
The ADC101S101 operates with a single supply that can range from +2.7V to +5.25V. Normal power consumption using a +3V or
+5V supply is 2.0 mW and 10 mW, respectively. The power-down feature reduces the power consumption to as low as 2.5 µW using
a +5V supply.
The ADC101S101 is packaged in 6-lead LLP and SOT-23 packages. Operation over the industrial temperature range of −40°C to
+85°C is guaranteed.
The ADC101S101 is a 2 mW, CMOS 10-bit, 1 MSPS Analog-to-Digital converter offered in a 6-lead SOT-23 and is designed to operate over the automotive/extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
This evaluation board is designed to ease the evaluation and design-in of National Semiconductors ADC101S101 Analog-to-Digital Converter. The board and can be used in either of two modes. In the Manal or Stand alone mode the board can be used with suitable test equipment to evaluate the ADC101S101's performance. In the Computer or Automatic mode, evaluation is simplified by connecting the board to the Wavevision Digital Interface Board (order number WAVEVISION BRD 4.0 or later), which in turn is connected to a personal computer through an USB communication port, and using National Semiconductor's Wavevision software.

Note: The Early Failure Rates (EFR) were calculated as point estimate PPM based on rejects and sample size for EFR.
The Long Term Failure Rates were calculated
at 60% confidence using the Arrhenius equation at 0.7eV activation energy and derating the assumed stress
temperature of 150°C to an application temperature of 55°C.
