January 28, 2003 - Demonstrating the company’s leading position in power management innovations, Edward Lam, vice president of the power management group at National Semiconductor (NYSE: NSM), will address the latest advancements in distributed power systems in a keynote speech at the Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC) 2003. Mr. Lam will speak at the conference’s plenary session starting at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Monday, February 10. Sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), APEC 2003, the leading event for practicing power electronics professionals worldwide, will be held Feb. 9-13 at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, FL.
Mr. Lam’s speech, titled “Revolutionary Advances in Distributed Power Systems,” will discuss distributed power architectures driven by rising power demands and the increasing number of supply voltages required in modern communications and computing systems. Mr. Lam will explore rapidly changing distributed power architectures, integrated pulse-width modulation (PWM) circuitry and emerging distributed power supply topologies that are enabling new information infrastructure systems.
Additionally, new solutions from National Semiconductor using an advanced topology to address PWM controller design challenges will be introduced in Mr. Lam’s speech.
