Catch "The Next Technology Wave" with National Semiconductor at COMDEX FALL 2002

NATIONAL CEO BRIAN HALLA DELIVERS KEYNOTE:

  • Brian Halla, CEO of National Semiconductor (NYSE:NSM), will deliver a keynote address at Comdex on Tuesday, Nov. 19.  In his speech, "The Next Technology Wave… You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet," Halla will outline the next technology boom and provide examples of the medical, consumer and security applications that are driving new markets --- and saving lives.  Catch the wave with Halla at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Hall C5 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.   
  • Following his speech, Halla will host a Q and A session with press and analysts in Room N102.  Attendees will see hands-on demonstrations of products featured in Halla's speech, including National's Geode™ Extended Office (GXO) and several Smart Displays.

NEW CONSUMER PRODUCT DEMOS:

  • National Semiconductor will showcase the latest information access technologies at Comdex Fall 2002, including demonstration products that will propel new markets and drive the next technology wave.  At press/analyst events and at its meeting room in the Las Vegas Convention Center, National will feature demonstration products from more than 20 leading partner companies, including:
    • Microsoft Windows powered Smart Displays from LG, NEC, Wyse, and Tatung   
    • Wireless phones from Sony Ericsson, Panda, and Kyocera   
    • Thin Clients from HP and Wyse   
    • A Set-Top Box from Matsushita   
    • The latest HP iPAQ Pocket PC   
    • Bluetooth™ wireless technology-demos of National's newest connectivity technologies and production-ready Bluetooth accessory modules for the HP Deskjet 450 mobile printer

HOT NEWS:

  • National Semiconductor also will unveil a new conceptual product --- the Geode Extended Office (GXO) --- powered by National's Geode™ processor technology and surrounded by National's cutting-edge analog circuitry.
    • National provides road warriors with "anywhere access" to their corporate data in a super-PDA-sized device that features a sleek industrial design, 6-inch color TFT display, Windows XP Operating System and advanced wireless connectivity.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON BROADBAND AND DIGITAL LIFESTYLE:

  • Mike Polacek, VP of National Semiconductor's Information Appliance Group, will discuss "The Critical Role of Broadband in the Digital Lifestyle" in a special panel at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18 in Room N264 .The session will be moderated by Tim Bajarin, a leading market analyst and founder and president of Creative Strategies.
