October 22, 2002 - National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) today announced Microsoft Corp. has named National as a "Windows Embedded Partner" for the second consecutive year. The award was given in the silicon vendor category, one of seven categories in the Microsoft annual awards program that recognizes the innovation and expertise of embedded industry partners.

The Microsoft award acknowledges National's leadership in system level solutions, its proven excellence in consistently bringing new Windows Embedded solutions to market, and its role as a trendsetter, building innovative products targeting Windows Embedded platforms.
Each year, Microsoft selects two to four vendors from each category to recognize as Partners of the Year. This year's awards were presented at the Windows Embedded Partner Summit event in Las Vegas on Oct. 21.
