National Semiconductor Names Brian Hurst to Head Marketing and Sales in the Americas

November 28, 2001 - National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) has named Brian D. Hurst Regional Vice President and General Manager of Marketing and Sales for the Americas, headquartered in Santa Clara, California. Hurst, who is responsible for all sales and marketing operations in North and South America, most recently was Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Transmeta Corporation in Santa Clara. Prior to that he was in general management at Quantum Corporation.

"He has a documented record of success with major global corporations in challenging sales management positions," Kunz added.

During his career Hurst had management responsibilities for sales, field engineering, customer support and technical engineering. These positions include sales management at Southwestern Technical Sales, a company founded by Hurst in Dallas in 1987, and at Intel Corporation.

Hurst has an executive graduate degree from Southern Methodist University in marketing, a BS degree in marketing from the University of Texas, and has participated in numerous post-graduate marketing and general management courses at the Wharton School of Business and Southern Methodist University.
