NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR LAUNCHES LOW VOLTAGE OP AMP WITH LOW 0.1 MICROAMP SHUTDOWN AND HIGH 40MA OUTPUT
LMV711 features 5Mhz Gain Bandwidth and 5V/microsecond Slew Rate
July 17, 2000 - National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) today announced the LMV711, an operational amplifier designed for general purpose applications in portable consumer market segments. With this latest product introduction, National is continuing to expand the popular LMV product line to address designers' requirements for a broad range of operational amplifiers.
Housed in the tiny SOT23 package, the LMV711 features a low 0.1 microA shutdown current through the use of its user-selectable shutdown. The feature helps the designer stay within the critical current requirements.
"The LMV711 offers enhanced specifications for designs such as portable consumer devices where low current consumption and output drive are the primary concerns," said Dennis Swan, marketing manager for Amplifier Products.
The LMV711 also features 40mA of output current, enabling it to drive loads as large as 600 Ohms while maintaining a high output swing.
Additionally, the LMV711 boasts an enhanced gain-band width of 5Mhz and a 5 V/microsecond slew rate, making the device well-suited for both small and large signal bandwidth consumer applications.
Pricing and Availability
Available now, the LMV711 is housed in a SOT23-6 and priced at $0.60 in 1000-unit quantities. The LMV710, also available now, is offered without the shut-down option and is available in a SOT23-5. The LMV710 is priced at $0.56 in 1000 unit quantities. Both devices operate over the industrial temperature of -40 to +85 degrees.
