NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR INTRODUCES WORLD'S SMALLEST LOW NOISE OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIER FAMILY

LMV700 Series of Operational Amplifiers Designed to Meet Increasing Demand for Low Noise Solutions

June 28, 1999 - National Semiconductor Corporation? (NYSE: NSM) today announced the LMV721, LMV722 and LMV751, low noise additions to its popular LMV line of low power, low voltage operational amplifiers, also know as Silicon Dust?. Featuring guaranteed low input voltage noise, low operating voltages and ultra-small packaging, all three operational amplifiers are ideal for handheld applications such as cellular phones, scanners and pagers where low noise performance is a priority.

"As the number of wireless applications multiply, demand is growing for low noise operational amplifiers within the larger low power, low voltage market," said Carlos Sanchez, National's marketing manager for low voltage amplifiers. "With the LMV721, LMV722 and LMV751, National is addressing this customer demand for low noise, space-saving, cost effective amplifiers by making our low power, low voltage LMV product line more comprehensive."

The LMV751, in the SOT23-5 package, offers guaranteed low noise at 2.7V to 5V. The LMV751, a pure CMOS input design, has low input voltage noise of 6.5 nano volts per square root Hz at 1kHz and low input current noise of just 0.01 pico amp per square root Hz, typically. The BiCMOS design LMV722 and LMV721, single and dual op amps in the SC-70 and MSOP packages respectively, are the smallest low noise op amps available, with an input voltage noise of less than 10 nano volts per square root Hz at 1kHz.

Key Features and Benefits
The LMV721, LMV722 and LMV751 all offer exceptional AC and DC specs, allowing for consistent performance throughout voltage changes and increased ease-of-use for designers.
