June 19, 2006 – Through its Giving Program, National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) and its employees donated $1.4 million to community organizations, disaster-relief efforts, schools and universities during the company’s latest fiscal year which ended May 27, 2006. This figure represents the highest amount ever donated through the Giving Program in a fiscal year.
“These results demonstrate National employees' tremendous generosity and spirit of giving,” said Joan Scott, National’s director of community relations. “Our employees enthusiastically contributed to causes that were personally important to them as well as provided donations to help those affected by Hurricane Katrina and the South Asia earthquake.”
Through its charitable foundation, National provides a dollar-for-dollar match for employees’ donations to non-profit agencies and education institutions.
