NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR ELECTS SILICON GRAPHICS CEO EDWARD McCRACKEN TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Santa Clara, CA., July 24, 1995 -- Edward R. McCracken, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Silicon Graphics, Inc., has been elected to the Board of Directors of National Semiconductor Corporation.

Dr. Gilbert F. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BSEE from Iowa State University.
