LM5069
Video Descriptions
This seminar will introduce the LM5069 positive hot swap controller. The first part of the seminar will define hot swapping and what it is used for. The characteristics of a hot swap controller will then be discussed specifically when using an external FET to control in-rush current. The LM5069 can also be used in any application where there is a need for current limiting and/or output monitoring.
Now when controlling in-rush current through an external FET, care must be taken to keep the FET within the safe operating area (SOA). The seminar will highlight key areas of the SOA. Through the use of current and power limiting, the LM5069 insures that the FET will stay within the SOA. Various scope plots showing real world data highlighting the features of the LM5069 will be shown. The seminar will conclude with the inductive spike issue and how to protect the IC from damage.
Topics covered in this online seminar include:
- Hot Swap
- Hot Swap Controller
- Hot Swap Application
- MOSFET Safe Operating Area (SOA)
- LM5069 Hot Swap Controller
- LM5069 Application Scope Plots
- Inductive Spike Issue
