INTRODUCING FPD-Link III with HDCP: National's FPD-Link III family of embedded clock LVDS serializers and deserializers provide a real-time bidirectional control channel to the high-speed data transport of high-resolution video and audio signals from source (graphics processor, camera or Blu-ray/DVD player) to sink (display or graphics engine) in automotive systems. The integrated bidirectional control channel eliminates the expense and weight of additional cabling and the cost of automotive control connectors such as CAN, LIN, or I2C between infotainment system components. FPD-Link III solutions enable crisp images, rich colors, and stereo sound over a smaller cable harness.

FPD-Link II: National's FPD-Link II family of embedded clock LVDS serializers and deserializers provide high-speed data transport of high resolution video and audio signals over a single twisted pair cable. The serializers and deserializers do not require software drivers, reducing the complexity and software validation time for these complicated systems. Devices in this families support both 18 and 24-bit RGB display applications and a wide range of display resolutions.
All FPD-Link Ser/Des chipsets offer automotive-grade EMI performance by reducing the wide parallel data bus down to a single differential pair signal and offering various technologies to improve system EMI. With the single serial signal, skew problems between multiple lines (lanes) are removed and cable lengths up to 10 meters are supported. This makes the FPD-Link II Ser/Des ideal for long reach automotive applications.
National also offers a wide range of automotive LCD display backlighting, automotive thermal management, automotove audio, AECQ grade power management, and other AECQ grade solutions. |
