Designing with high-frequency switching regulators is optimal for applications with space and height restrictions. However for all of their benefits, high switching frequencies increase typical power supply challenges of power dissipation, electromagnetic interference (EMI), and limitations on the useful maximum input voltage. Thanks to new process technology optimized for high switching frequency as well as improved figure-of-merit MOSFETs, National has developed a family of high-efficiency buck regulators with up to 6 MHz switching frequency. These devices offer increased performance over wider input voltages with faster transient response and the ability to maintain output voltage ripple with smaller components. Internally compensated, these easy-to-use buck regulators are industry leaders in power density. View our latest webinar on power supply design made easy for space-constrained applications. |
