The Rochester Design Center sits in a vibrant and metropolitan community. Located in the third largest urban area in New York state, it offers a unique historical perspective, as well as a high tech inventive atmosphere. Rochester's history spans from the Native Americans to abolitionists to women's rights. There are city strolls that will guide you through many of the landmarks associated with these movements.
With a plethora of sites and attractions, you will never be bored in the Rochester area. From the charm of the many waterways and Lake Ontario nearby and the cultural richness of downtown Rochester, you can choose to do almost anything you want. Many locals enjoy boating and fishing in Irondequoit Bay or wine tasting in the wine region. Or visitors choose to visit the museums, like the International Museum of Photography and the George Eastman House, home of the founder of Kodak.
Rochester was also named one of "America's 10 Best Cities for Families" by Child Magazine. It is considered very family friendly with its many festivals, the Seneca Park Zoo and the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
