Why is your National experience different than other companies you've worked for?
"Management is dedicated to developing effective employees. They understand this goal cannot be achieved by Management decisions alone. They actively elicit and respond to employee concerns and suggestions. They understand the concept that an unhappy employee is an ineffective employee and take the necessary actions to ensure employee job satisfaction."
What do you think makes your particular work group unique?
"Management gives us the opportunity to fully realize our potential at this company. When entering a company as diverse as National it can be difficult determining where exactly you fit in and what your future career interests may be. The Worldwide Quality Network (WQN) group through its extensive rotation program has given me the knowledge, skill set, and incentive to pursue what really interests me at National."
What aspect of National gets you up in the morning and makes you want to come to work?
"It's simple. The people. My coworkers at National are much more than just my colleagues; they are my friends, mentors and family. They help create an environment that is conducive to sharing, learning, and growing. It is the people at National who keep my career exciting and inspire me to realize my potential every day."
Can you tell us about a certain incident or experience that really captures your National camaraderie or inside experience?
"As part of the WQN rotation program I was given the opportunity to work for 3 months at our European Headquarters in Fuerstenfeldbruck, Germany. Here is an excerpt of my review: Now that I've completed my rotation I truly realize how great an experience this has been for me and how lucky I really am. I was able to work with a great group of professionals, perform tasks that I didn't normally get the chance to do in Santa Clara, and experience the wonderful German culture."
What can you tell us about the direction of the company? Where is it headed?
"Just check out our most recent Financial Results. We're going up and it's just the beginning!"
What do you think is the coolest solution or product that National has solved or created?
"Bob Pease."
What object on your desk can you not live without?
"Pictures of my company renowned parties."
Why is your career with National a good opportunity for you in terms of the technology?
"I work in the Quality group at National which allows me to interact with multiple Product Lines and products and share information with a whole spectrum of Engineers from Product to Design. Plus I am able to communicate with the customers, which keeps me on top of customer concerns and tech market trends."
Elaborate on the personal side of National, the touchy feely aspect...
"College Club always has quality touchy feely moments (and not the ones that can get you in trouble with HR). The Tahoe Ski Trips are my favorite. You get to stay in a cool cabin for the weekend with a bunch of your coworkers. It's great because you get to see a whole other, more personal side, to your colleagues when you're able to spend quality time together outside of work."
Share an insider scoop about National that nobody knows about except those who work there.
