Summary:
Processor Expert™ from Unis (PE), is a Windows IDE with graphical tools for the design, implementation, verification, and optimization of COP8 designs. A designer does not need to know any COP8 assembly language, or any compiler language, and instead uses pre-tested, configurable Embedded Beans™ for application development and source code generation.
The COP8 Simulator provides full-featured simulation, with source debugging. It is designed to work seamlessly with National's COP8 assembler and linker for design debugging in assembly language. The COP8 Simulator can optionally be installed as a stand-alone Windows IDE, with the assembler and linker. Top of Page
Description:
Processor Expert™ is a Windows PC drag&drop style software tool, with a Graphical Design Interface system designed for easy building of embedded applications. The approach to application creation is simple: Select your microcontroller; Describe your real or designed system with Embedded Beans™ (drag&drop); Configure individual Beans to suit your needs (using the Beans Inspector); Set the destination language (COP8 Assembler), or compiler; Generate application code; Simulate and debug your code; Download to a realtime emulator, device programmmer, or your target board.
Embedded Beans™ encapsulate the functionality of basic elements of your embedded design (like the COP8 core, COP8 on-chip peripherals, standalone peripherals, virtual devices, and pure software algorithms), and presents this functionality graphically as properties, methods, and events. The user designs the application by selecting and configuring Beans (with the Beans Wizard), then the tool builds these portable Embedded Beans™ into fully functional application code for simulation. Processor Expert™ includes a complete library of COP8 Embedded Beans™ (which can be customized for any programming language and target compiler), and a COP8 Hardware Database.
The Unis COP8 Simulator is a full-featured simulator, with I/O and Interrupt simulation capabilty, and source debugging. It can be used in the PE environment, or it can optionally be installed stand-alone, under its own Windows IDE, with National's COP8 Assembler and Linker. The COP8 Simulator allows you to switch between source mode and disassembly mode debugging as required.
Processor Expert™ and Simulator currently support most Flash and SA/SG OTPs.
