COP8-EPU-SA and -SG (Discontinued; No longer supported)
- For evaluating COP8 OTP/ROM devices, use instead:
  - COP8-PRO-COB1 - COP8 OTP/ROM Prototyping Kit with Development Software, Windowed COP8SGR7, and Prototyping/Target board.
- The EPU IS NOT APPROVED for programming devices for production! This is an engineering lab tool only. See Device Programming section below.
- EPU Win32 PC Software Update - 2001 - For EPU-SA and -SG only. No more updates.
- EPU Firmware v2.3r1 update for better COP8SA OTP Programming yields (Download and program into a new COP8SGR740N. For EPU-SA and EPU-SG only)
- 28 CSP programming adapter (COP8-PGMA-28CSP) requires added wire from pin 2 of the DIP base to pin 26 of the device socket.
- The EPU-GG and earlier cannot be updated for simulation or programming SA/SG devices.

COP8-SKFLASH-00 - for COP8S/C Flash in 68plcc only.
- Our new COP8-SKFLASH-01 has improved features, with a breadboard area, Kanda ISP tool support, Low voltage operation, and sockets for 44PLCC and 28DIP. It is more expensive.

- If you are damaging the COP8 when doing ISP, we have a 2xVcc circuit modification. See the User Notes in the device Product Folders. Here is a link
- FlashWin has been replaced by COP8-SW-ISPK1 (see Device Programming below). Same cable; new software.
- NiceMon can also be used for ISP.
- The board also has a 2x7 header for use with the COP8Flash emulator.

COP8-EM and DM for OTP/ROM
- The EM is the same as the DM, without OTP programming circuits

- The EM/DM on-board firmware is automatically updated when the Host PC software is run.

- DM software patch for COP8SA programming and securing problems or just update the software
- EM or DM boards cannot be converted or updated to EMULATE new products.
- DM-3 boards cannot be updated for programming the SA/SG devices.
- DM-4 and DM-5 boards can be updated for programming. Just download the latest software.
- DM-5 boards are 15MHz versions of the DM-4 (10MHz), with a few more trace features.
- DM4 boards cannot be updated to DM-5.

- Purchase an EM/DM repair kit for $99: COP8-DM-FIX (Includes parts and instructions; No Emulator Chip)

- Connecting the emulator to a target board (70kb .pdf) - An on-board 2x7 emulator header is recommended.
- PLCC Emulation Adapters - An alternative to the target 2x7 header. 44PLCC and 68PLCC only.
- TSSOP, DIP, and LLP packages require the target 2x7 emulation header for emulation.
- Null Targets - 68PLCC and 28DIP only. 68PLCC version is included with all flash emulators. These are just for startup, and initial code development until your target board is developed. You can also use a COP8-REF-FL1 or REF-AM as a target development board using the on-board 2x7 emulation headers.

OTP Programming Notes/Issues - COP8SA, COP8SG, COP87L, COP8ACC,
- Increase your COP8SAx7 programming yields. Ask your programmer vendor for v4.0 algorithm update!

Flash Programming Notes/Issues - COP8S, COP8C, COP8A
- Program faster with the latest version of COP8-SW-ISPK1! Now supports 8k devices, and 3.2MHz target boards.
- Use the Kanda COP8-ISP Tool with dongle for target boards requiring other than 10MHz or 3.2MHz.
- Use the Kanda COP8-ISP Tool with dongle for target boards WITHOUT the 2xVcc circuits.
- Damaging FLASH devices during ISP? You must have a correctly implemented 2xVcc circuit on your target board, including correct rise times. Devices WILL be damaged if not done correctly. See the User Notes in the device Product Folders. Here is a link
- Some laptops have problems with the parallel port.

  - COP8-PM-00 - Engineering Programmer Module. No expensive adapters needed for most OTP packages, plus optional COP8Flash programming support.
