Summary:

National's CP3-EK Evaluation Kits provide a low-cost environment for evaluating the CP3000 software development tools, and the features of the CP3000 Family connectivity processors.

From your host PC, download and control demo applications at full system speed on the realtime target board.Exercise the CP3UB/CN device with a variety of on-board features, and communications I/O, including USB and RS232 connections back to your host PC.  A full suite of software development tools, including National's C compiler, allows you to design and simulate your own applications, then download to the target board for execution and full debugging. 

Description:

The kits consists of a complete Windows IDE development environment, demo programs, software libraries, documentation, device samples, cables, and a realtime target board. 

A "custom" version or "OEM version" iSystems WinIDEA IDE includes a project manager, editor, debugger, and supports both National's CompactRISC^TM toolset (included), and IAR's C compiler toolset (30 day evaluation copy).  National's toolset includes an ANSI-C C compiler, macro assembler, linker, librarian, COFF to hex converter and other object tools (a license key is provided in the kit for installation).  Application software libraries with templates, and a demo program are included.  An optional ISP utility  (CRISP) is also included, but not required for kit operation.

The evaluation target board has its own external power supply (110v/220v), and interfaces to the host PC through its parallel port for downloading and debugging application programs.  The board includes a socket for a 100 pin QFP device (2 samples each of the CP3UB17 and CP3CN17 devices are included with the kit), a download/debug interface (DB25), CAN and USART connectors (DB9), and a variety of pushbuttons, switches, and LEDs.  An expansion header allows additional daughter boards, and a Nexus connector supports the iSystems IC3000 Emulator.

The software debugging function is tied to the enclosed target board circuitry, and cannot be used for other hardware applications.  The CP3-SDK Software Development Kit, with IC3000 emulator is required for customer designed target environments.
