Video Description

"Hands-on" demo of a wirelessly controlled LED-based lighting reference design from Arrow Electronics and Freescale. This design can provide engineers with a solid starting point when converting from incandescent bulbs to LEDs in new fixture applications. This Arrow Lighting Simplicity Kit (Control Board and a remote HB-LED board) showcases a modular design for wireless control of solid-state lighting technology and can be easily adapted to a variety of LED lighting applications and features these products:

  • National LM3407 - 350 mA, Constant-Current Output Floating Buck Switching Converter for High Power LEDs
  • National LM94021 - Multi-Gain Analog Temperature Sensor
  • Cree XLamp® XR-E High Power LEDs
  • Freescale MC9S08QE128 8-bit microcontroller with 128 KB of embedded Flash and 8 KB SRAM
  • Digi International XBee® RF Module

Presenters:

  • Drew Clader – Technical Sales Engineer, Arrow Electronics
  • Kristen Elserougi – Product Line Engineer at National Semiconductor
  • Host: Rick Zarr – PowerWise® Technologist at National Semiconductor
