Video Description

This episode demonstrates the National Semiconductor, Nuventix, and Avnet LED lighting reference design (RD-173) for high-brightness LED bulb replacement. This unique design featuring the Nuventix SynJet® and National’s LM3429 buck-boost LED Driver to make bulb replacement easy. The SynJet module serves as the cooling element for an LED luminaire or bulb replacement for the standard MR16, PAR20, PAR25, PAR30 or PAR 38 form factors. The Nuxentix SynJet solid state fan-less cooling uses jets of air from a vibrating membrane and is 10 times more reliable than a fan at half the power. Technical topics covered include thermal issues and Lumen depreciation (L70/L50) for lighting up to several thousand lumens.

Presenters:
Cary Eskow – Director, Lightspeed Avnet
Matt Reynolds – Applications Manager, Lighting National Semiconductor
Rick Zarr - PowerWise Technologist at National Semiconductor
