Dec. 1, 2005 - National Semiconductor employees from the Suzhou plant in China joined thousands of employees from other foreign investment companies at the "2005 Hand-In-Hand Charity Run" on Nov. 26.
It was organized by Suzhou Red Cross, the De-Shan Society, and the Suzhou Industrial Park Administration Committee.
The event -- the first of its kind in Suzhou -- raised funds for care and financial support to patients with kidney problems. With the funds raised, these patients can undertake the much-needed and costly dialysis.
Employees from National's Suzhou plant took part in both charity run and charity sales activities. Hundreds of National Semiconductor souvenirs were sold to willing donors. National’s caring for locals is reported to be highly appreciated by the organizers and the community. The Suzhou plant also made a donation of RMB 10,000 to the event.
