By giving time and money to their favorite non-profit organizations and educational institutions, National employees are making our communities better places to live and work. In fact, through National's Giving Program, over $1.4 million was donated to schools, community organizations, and disaster relief efforts in FY2006 by employees and the National Semiconductor Foundation. A total of 920 educational and community-based organizations were recipients of the Giving Program this past year.
To support and encourage employee involvement in the community, National will match eligible contributions dollar-for-dollar (up to $500 per employee per year for Charitable Gifts and up to $1000 per employee per year for Educational Gifts). Through the program, U.S. employees can contribute to nonprofit organizations or schools through ongoing payroll deductions or one-time gifts. In addition, employees who volunteer their time on a regular basis can apply for a $500 grant for the organization in which they volunteer.
