National Semiconductor's India Design Center Donates Computers

National Semiconductor employees presented the donation to the headmaster of the rural primary school in Ankola.

June 13, 2007 - As part of its 10-year anniversary celebration, National Semiconductor's India Design Center donated six computers to a computer center in Shoolagiri, Tamilnadu, which is run by a non-profit organization called Association for India’s Development (AID), and to a rural primary school in Ankola, North Karnataka.

AID-India, a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 1991, is a volunteer movement committed to promoting sustainable, equitable and just development for the underprivileged. For the school in Ankola, which has basic amenities, the computer donated by National India was the first of its kind.

National Semiconductor employees were instrumental in identifying the organizations, volunteering to install the computers and also providing training for the teachers during a weekend.
