College Club

National understands that the transition from school into the working world is a major step. The College Club is National’s sponsored program aimed at helping new college hires meet one another. All disciplines are included, from finance to engineering. Snowboarding trips, baseball games, movie nights and happy hours are just a few of the fun events College Club regularly hosts.

National Semiconductor University

National’s on-site learning center offers various classes to help with career development. Courses available can enhance professional and soft skills. National Semiconductor also has an Educational Assistance program for employees who wish to pursue further education or additional degrees.

  • Begin your resume with a meaningful objective
  • Don’t list references, your prospective employer will ask for those if needed
  • Include your Overall and Major GPA and expected graduation date
  • Customize format to highlight strengths
  • Keep it to one page
  • Show balance between education, work experience, extracurricular activities and skills
  • Use standard fonts and natural tone paper
  • Have several people review your resume and offer constructive criticism

Preparing for a Job Interview

By taking the necessary steps prior to an interview, you should be able to walk away from it feeling great and knowing you were able to show your true self. Make yourself stand out by highlighting key strengths and characteristics that differentiate you from others in your resume and cover letter.
