South Portland is home to state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities, as well as design and product development groups in Interface and Mobile Devices Power Product Lines. Within the 49-acre site, manufacturing space occupies about 80,000 square feet and is considered among the most advanced fabs in the world in the area of factory automation.

Given its size, this site has many amenities, such as a cafeteria, fitness center and credit union. Educational courses are offered on-site to help employees develop personally and professionally.

As the largest metropolitan area in Maine, the site is located in a diverse area with small town feel and big city liveliness. There is a rich history embedded within the many landmarks and theater and musical choices are countless.

One can also truly experience the four seasons in the greater Portland area. The coastal area has mild winters and cool summer breezes. National's presence in Maine dates to 1987 when it bought Fairchild Semiconductor. The existing facility was opened in 1997.
