Regional Headquarters and Design Center

The finest view in the corporation is how one American visitor described the Firth of Clyde seen from our facility. National's Greenock Manufacturing and Design Center is nestled on the River Clyde's south bank just west of Glasgow within the district of Inverclyde. Having been home to shipbuilding and seagoing industries, this area has more recently refocused on commerce, retail and electronic engineering.

Inverclyde is an area of unrivalled beauty, situated along the broad coastal reaches of the River Clyde with breathtaking views to the Argyll Hills and Scottish Highlands. Inverclyde's spectacular countryside, its moorlands, hills and lochs can be sampled within Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, a haven for the rarest species of Scottish wildlife and center for numerous outdoor pursuits and leisure activities.

The museums and galleries and stately homes of Greenock, Gourock and Port Glasgow, celebrate Inverclyde's influential maritime history and industrial past. Inverclyde is within easy traveling distance by car, rail or coach to the Glasgow city center and Edinburgh.

Among the places of historic interest to visit in Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city, are Edinburgh Castle, the National Gallery of Scotland, John Knox House, the Palace of Holyrood House, Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Whisky Heritage Center.

In Greenock, we concentrate on the development and manufacture of products for a range of blue chip customers. But we're also an established design centre – focusing on the research and development of power management, standard analog, information appliance and process development.

We know that the skills, understanding and knowledge our people bring with them has helped us reach where we are today - and helping our people reach where they want to go is a natural focus for us. So we invest heavily in career development and a culture that embraces and rewards innovation, teamwork and integrity. What's more, we encourage personal initiative within a framework of flexible teams and provide an ongoing investment in team building. Worldwide, we've invested millions of dollars in cultivating the skills of our people through a process of continual challenge - keeping everyone motivated, leading to teamwork that's revolutionizing the way we do business.

Given the nature of our work, we recruit, in the main, from engineering and related disciplines - to our Design, Product, Process Development and Process Engineering groups. However, we also look for Human Resources, Finance, IS and Purchasing professionals to join our team.

In return, for the commitment of our team, we offer competitive terms and conditions with a range of benefit packages. We also pride ourselves on offering a lot to our people socially - and of course, they find the chance to work on the technologies that move and shape the way we live.
