Introducing FPD-Link II: National’s FPD-Link II family of embedded clock LVDS serializers and deserializers enable the high-speed data transport of high resolution video and audio signals from source (graphics processor, camera or DVD player) to sink (display) in automotive infotainment applications. FPD-Link II solutions provide infotainment systems with crisp images, rich colors, and stereo sound for a movie theatre entertainment experience in your vehicle.
The FPD-Link II transmitter serializes the wide parallel data bus down to a single differential pair signal that may be transmitted over 10 meters of cable.
Devices in the family support 18 and 24-bit RGB Display applications. With the single serial signal, skew problems between multiple lines (lanes) are removed and cable lengths up to 10 meters are supported. This makes the FPD-Link II SerDes ideal for long reach applications with low cost small cables.
