Filter Design
Instructions:
Begin your design by selecting from the list of options for filter type: Lowpass filter, Highpass filter, Bandpass filter, or Bandstop filter, and choosing between searching for a transfer function to meet performance requirements or picking a specific transfer function.
Search Transfer Functions
By searching for a transfer function that meets your desired filter performance, you'll be able to specify the frequency response parameters, including cutoff frequency, and stopband attenuation and frequency. Additional parameters, such as the passband flatness, group delay, and step response targets are also available.
Pick a Transfer Function
If you would prefer to directly specify your filter transfer function, a list of response types and filter orders are shown to allow you to compare up to 4 filter transfer functions at once.
Finish the Design
After selecting the filter transfer function, you can review the resulting design, and if desired, modify the choice of circuit topology, default component values, and op amp choice. You'll be able to enter the simulation environment and run an electrical simulation for the closed loop frequency response, step response, and sine wave response.
Finally, on the “Build-It” page, WEBENCH provides a complete bill of materials, along with the option to purchase or order samples of the amplifier.
Bessel, Butterworth, Chebyshev (0.01dB to 1dB), Equiripple with Linear Phase, Transitional Gaussian, and Legendre Papoulis filter approximations are supported. Filter circuits are composed of 2nd order Sallen-Key, Multiple Feedback, State Variable, Dual Follower, Fliege, Gyrator, or Voltage-Controlled Voltage Source stages (some topologies only available for selected filter types), plus a 1st order inverting or non-inverting stage if needed.
