National leads the 8- & 10-bit ADC space with best-in-class performance at the lowest power consumption!
National's new ADC10D1000 10-bit, 2 Giga-sample per second (GSPS) single/1 GSPS dual analog-to-digital converter (ADC) delivers unequaled dynamic system-level performance and low power for wideband applications. At a frequency of 248 MHz, the ADC10D1000 provides the industry’s highest spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) performance of 66 decibels relative to carrier (dBc) and 9.1 effective number of bits (ENOB). Running off a single supply voltage, the ADC10D1000 achieves this unparalleled level of performance while consuming 33 percent less total power (2.8W) than comparable ADCs.

The latest single ADC083000 converts one analog signal into 8 bits of data while consuming only 1.9 W at 3 GSPS. Its buffered version, the ADC08B3000, contains a 4 kilobyte buffer and consumes just 1.6 W at 3 GSPS. The dual ADC08D1500 consumes only 1.8 W for both channels simultaneously converting signals at 1.5 GSPS. This dual ADC can also be used as a single ADC at sampling speeds up to 3 GSPS by interleaving the internal ADC channels.

All converters in National's GSPS family of ADCs have similar pin configurations. Our customers can establish a standard board layout and reuse it across multiple designs as they upgrade or develop new products. This minimizes engineering costs and reduces development time when designing product spins.

In addition, National provides our customers with tools to speed up development cycle times. Our Development Systems (e.g., ADC08D1500DEV and ADC083000RB) resemble data acquisition cards. They serve as platforms for our customers to develop their own application firmware as a starting point for their own proprietary designs. They are easy to use and eliminate the need for costly external measurement equipment. (See xilinx.national.com for more information).
