National's PowerWise Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) are extremely low power and provide excellent INL, DNL, and Full Scale Error performance.  National's PowerWise DACs are designed to minimize engineering design cost and reduce development time. DACs of the same channel configuration are interchangeable. A customer can establish a standard board layout and reuse the layout across multiple designs as they upgrade or develop new products or to provide multiple performance levels from a single design.
DAC121S101
National's PowerWise DAC products are the lowest power family of D/A converters on the market. In addition to providing extremely low power consumption over a range of sample rates, each DAC has a very efficient power saving scheme. For example, a single channel SPI DAC used in a 100 Ksps application has a typical power consumption of 0.78 mW at 5V. A single channel I2C PowerWise DAC used in a 1 Ksps application has a typical power consumption of 0.74 mW at 5V.
DAC128S085
8-channel DACs save even more power. Each channel can be powered on independently providing maximum flexibility in controlling power consumption.
All eight DAC outputs can be updated simultaneously or individually. A daisy chain option allows any number of 8 channel DACs to be tied together to provide as many output channels as needed. In addition each set of four channels can be connected to a separate reference.

8-Channel DAC with Flexible Output Control
All eight DAC outputs can be updated simultaneously or individually. The DAC128S085 has a 16-bit input shift register that controls the mode of operation, the power-down condition, and the DAC channels' register/output value.
