Designing with National's PowerWise® A/D Converters (ADCs)
National's PowerWise Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) are the lowest power family of A/D converters on the market. In addition to providing extremely low power consumption over a range of sample rates, each ADC has a very efficient power down feature. For example, a single channel 1Msps PowerWise ADC used in a 10 Ksps application has a typical power consumption of 0.02 mW at 3V.
National's PowerWise ADCs also lower engineering cost. A/D converters with the same channel count and package are interchangeable so one PCB layout supports multiple system designs that require different resolutions and sample rates.
And since National's PowerWise A/D converter performance is guaranteed over a range of sample rates instead of a single rate, unique in the industry, one ADC can be used in place of multiple conventional ADCs. This reduces design time, shortens time to market and lowers component stocking cost.
