Many of the LMH parts that National Semiconductor has recently released have been replacements for earlier parts. Some of the new parts have higher bandwidth and slightly improved performance.
Higher bandwidth can cause ringing or oscillation if the board layout is marginal. More care must be taken with the board layout design for LMH parts.
- The feedback resistor may need to be raised in order to reduce parasitic capacitances. Current feedback parts will require different feedback resistance values.
- Newer packages are smaller and have less parasitic capacitance and inductances on the pin leads and sockets.
