Current feedback op amps make great cable drivers.
You will want to look for the voltage swing. If you are going to back terminate your cable, then you will want to be able to swing twice the voltage that your signal is going to be on the cable. Half of the voltage will be used in the termination resistor.
- A key component in driving cables is having the current to be able to drive them. You will want to check your output voltage over the load plus the termination resistor. You will want to have some overhead to overcome any parasitic cpacitances and load capacitiances that are not matched by the termination resistor.
- You will need to have adequate bandwidth. You will need at least one and one half times the 3 dB bandwidth at your signal amplitude.
