Overview: Many telecommunication networks are required to use standard Ethernet networks. This can prove to be a challenging environment for systems using the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) for synchronization. This presentation describes an innovative approach to meet telecommunication synchronization requirements by enhancing the synchronization algorithm to take advantages of the high precision features built into the DP83640 Precision PHYTER IEEE 1588 PTP Synchronization PHY.
