Overview: This seminar will present
useful information to successfully design with TFT-LCD column drivers. The
focus will be on methods and explanations not found in datasheets. This
includes a discussion of asymmetric gamma curves, static and dynamic Vcom
characteristics, content specific gamma, output offset issues and proper
routing and layout of differential pairs.
Length: 60 minutes
Published Date: July 2002
Topics covered in this online seminar include:
- Construction of the Column Driver
- Theory Behind Setting Gamma Correction
- Differential Signal Routing
- Output Variation Issues
Presenter: Dick McCartney, has
been involved in displays for more than 20 years and with the design of
active-matrix, LCD drive electronics for the last 15. He is Principal Display
Technologist at National Semiconductor focused on the development of new
product technology for display applications. He is also Technical Program
Chair for the 2003 Society for Information Display Symposium.
