National`s Solutions for Video Applications: Part One
High Speed Amplifiers for Video Applications

Overview: This Seminar will be the first of a series of three that discusses National's solutions for video applications. Seminar will go over some basics of analog video amplifiers and ways to amplify, select, and amplify these types of signals. For the most part, the discussion will use analog video as an example, but it is equally applicable to other high speed operational amplifier applications as well. Next seminar: Serial Digital Video solutions for video applications.

Length: 69 minutes

Published Date: March 2005

Topics covered in this online seminar include:

  • Analog Video Waveform
  • Displaying the Video Signal
  • Which Op Amp type fits video best?
  • DC / AC Coupled Amplifiers, Single Supply Operation
  • Video Multiplexing
  • Video Transmission & Equalization over UTP
  • Getting the heat out

Presenter: Hooman Hashemi is a graduate of Santa Clara University, holding a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1988 . He obtained his B.S.E.E. from San Jose State University in 1983. Hooman joined National Semiconductor's Amplifier's Applications group in 1995. Since then he has worked on the definition and release of several general purpose and high speed devices.
