Chopper Amplifiers - Achieving Precision

Overview: Many of us consider chopper amplifiers a mysterious gizmo that somehow manages to eliminate offset errors as well as noise. In this presentation we will briefly discuss the concepts of precision, noise, offset voltage as well as the types and methods of chopper amps. After this seminar you should know the basic operation of chopper amplifiers and be able to successfully use them in your circuit designs.

Length: 60 minutes

Published Date: April 2004

Topics covered in this online seminar include:

  • What is precision?
  • What is offset voltage?
  • Types of low-offset amplifiers.
  • How the different types of low-offset amplifiers work.
  • The National LMV2011 amplifier.

Presenter: Paul Rako is a Strategic Applications Engineer with National Semiconductor's Amplifier Products Group in Santa Clara, California.
