Magnetics: Filling the Gap

Overview: Magnetics is arguably the holy grail of switching power conversion. We all know that mastering it can lead to far better optimized converters, though most engineers understandably feel rather uncomfortable with it. This presentation should be looked at being the first step in rediscovering the joy of magnetics. Much of the underlying simplicity can be regained in terms of the ‘z-factor’, introduced here for the first time. This radical approach actually helps simplify the equations, and provide a much deeper and intuitive insight into this challenging area. Engineers working in the field of power conversion, and product definition thereof. The seminar will start at the very basics, so there are no pre-requisites other than a desire to learn something about magnetics.
